It is unclear when the settlement that would later become known as Camp View Road began, but a reference to a structure called Camp House can be found on the 1766 Dury and Andrews map. It is likely that this was a small cottage, perhaps used as housing for a local farm worker. By 1822, when the next map was published, Camp House had been turned into a terrace, and a few additional modest homes had been constructed nearby. One of the homes, located on the far right of the map near what would later become Roland Street, was occupied by Mr. Constable, who worked as an agricultural labourer. His home was later demolished to make way for the construction of the homes on Camp View Road.

The mechanism for locking uPVC doors involves lifting the handles and turning the key, which secures the door in three locations – top, bottom, and middle. This type of lock is commonly used on double-glazed doors but is also becoming popular on composite doors. Compared to traditional locks, which only secure the door in one position, the uPVC lock provides enhanced security. However, maintaining these locks can be more complicated and expensive if they require replacement. The lock is similar to a Euro lock cylinder and can be replaced with anti-drill and anti-snap locks, which we suggest as a replacement option.
If you encounter difficulty lifting the handles when the door is closed, it may indicate that the door is not properly shut or that the locking mechanism is misaligned with the frame. To avoid costly repairs or security risks, we recommend consulting a qualified locksmith to inspect the door and realign it with the frame. You can easily arrange for our locksmiths to adjust and service these locks by calling our office number 0800 707 4203.

Internal Doors are typically constructed using lighter materials since they do not need to withstand external weather conditions. Common materials for internal doors include hollow or solid-core wood, MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard), or composite materials. While external doors, on the other hand, need to be more durable and weather-resistant. They are often made from solid wood, metal, fibreglass, or other materials that can withstand exposure to the elements.
Internal doors are often designed with aesthetics and interior décor in mind. They may have various styles, finishes, and decorative elements to complement the overall look of the interior space. External doors on the other hand may prioritise functionality and security. They often have features like weather-stripping, reinforced cores, and sturdy locking mechanisms. The design might be more focused on durability and resistance to external elements. When it comes to security measurements, external doors play a crucial role in home security. They are designed to withstand forced entry and may include features like robust locks, deadbolts, and reinforced frames. Internal doors are generally less of a concern and their primary purpose is to provide privacy within a building.
External doors need to be weatherproof to protect the interior of the building from rain, wind, and temperature fluctuations. Their insulation features are designed to help maintain the temperature inside the building and reduce energy loss. Understanding these differences can help you choose the right type of door based on its intended use and the specific requirements of your building.
